Romans 2:5-11

"But because of your stubbornness and your unrepentant heart, you are storing up wrath against yourself for the day of God's wrath, when his righteous judgment will be revealed. God "will give to each person according to what he has done." To those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor and immortality, he will give eternal life. But for those who are self-seeking and who reject the truth and follow evil, there will be wrath and anger. There will be trouble and distress for every human being who does evil: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile; but glory, honor and peace for everyone who does good: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile. For God does not show favoritism."

Paul is telling the Romans here to not judge others. It's not our place to judge people even though we may think we have the right to. Holding the belief that we have the credentials to judge others just builds up stubbornness in our hearts, which Paul says is detrimental to us in the end. God will eventually show His wrath on mankind, and we are included in that for our self-righteous thinking. We need to consistently seek to do and be good, and to just always keep in mind that no matter how "bad" we think others are, what kinds of choices they're making, how they're behaving even though they're not supposed to be, it's not up to us to judge. That's all up to God in the end.

I guess this is was one of those scoldings that we need from time to time..keep us in check, keeps us reminded that we're no better than the next sinner because that's what we essentially are. You can always count on good ol' Paul for a good lesson here and there..
