charge onward like the calvary

"13Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, 14I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus." - Philippians 3:13-14

forgive & forget. some people say that one's possible without the other, but i disagree. sure, it may be easy to forgive someone you love but the fact that you don't forget.. is i dunno. i don't really think complete forgiveness can happen without complete forget-ness (?), but with the exception of God. only God can do that, bcus He's God & and can essentially do anything. but yeah.

where was i going with this?

why is it so hard to forget what happened in the past? holding onto something that's already happened is so futile and useless. waste.of.life. lingering in the past, more importantly, something you can't control, is not just useless but also God says it's a SIN. we have more important things to worry and focus on. God sent His son to die on the cross so that we can look to Him and try to live right, not weep and be sad over the past. sometimes, when i'm by myself i can just feel satan trying to seep into my mind bcus in that brief moment, i'm reminded of all the bad things that happened and i start slowly getting angry. that is DEFINITELY not what God wants.

i just pray that we can learn to look ahead and store up our treasures and hopes in Heaven. because all the world's ever gonna give to us is disappointment.
