14Since the children have flesh and blood, he too shared in their humanity so that by his death he might destroy him who holds the power of death—that is, the devil— 15and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death. 16For surely it is not angels he helps, but Abraham's descendants. 17For this reason he had to be made like his brothers in every way, in order that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in service to God, and that he might make atonement for the sins of the people. 18Because he himself suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted.
Hebrews 2:14-18
He wasn't like other gods. other gods didn't dare step down from their mighty thrones and take human form to live amongst us because they didn't have to. well God didn't have to either. He could've just created us, given us those commandments, and just weed out who went to heaven or hell. but this is the beauty of it all, how our Maker himself came down and lived and walked with us so that He could take the blame for our stupid sins. all the crap that we do now, all the sin that we immerse ourself in no matter how many times we tell ourselves we won't do it anymore, God already forgave us for that. Jesus already paid the price of an insufferable amount of beatings and torment so that nothing else may block the way of our relationship with Him.
bad stuff happen. we sin, we're human, and it's life. no point in continuously beating up yourself over it. because when you do that, you might as well just spit in God's face. yeah, thanks for sending your son to die for me but my sin is so great, that even Your Son's death won't do it. that's a terrible mindset to be in. learn to live towards the future, not the past. or else, that's just taking God's mercy in vain and for granted. holding guilt is still a sin. it's okay to feel remorse for what you did, but then accept God's forgiveness & move on. stop drowning yourself in guilt- because that's still sinning.
