repeat.

7 Dear children, do not let anyone lead you astray. The one who does what is right is righteous, just as he is righteous. 8 The one who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work.

1 John 3

i had to re-post about this passage because i think it is THAT important. tracing all the way back to the fall of Adam and Eve, it was the serpent that led Eve astray. and who was the serpent? Satan. he deceived Adam & Eve by offering them sin disguised as something good. they were so easily tempted by his lies and false truths. but for us, scripture tells us that a person who abides in Christ does not sin because God does not sin. it's not in His nature. so John calls someone who leads another away from Christ as of the devil, belonging to Satan and not God. it's probably one of the worst things a person can do as a Christian, because it's not only his/her own soul that's at stake but he's also bringing down someone else with him! leading someone astray is no better than blocking that person's path on the way to Christ. so...let's not do that. let's be Godly and righteous.
