21 When all the people were being baptized, Jesus was baptized too. And as he was praying, heaven was opened 22 and the Holy Spirit descended on him in bodily form like a dove. And a voice came from heaven: "You are my son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased."

This is one of those verses i come to when I'm having a bad day. When it feels as if the world has left you, and you're all alone (especially all by yourself in a large spacious basement of a dorm writing a paper).. or if it was just one of those days. It's a simple yet glorious verse. It's Christianity 101.. we know God loves Jesus. But it was to the extent that the heavens opened up and the voice of God embraced Jesus, His Son who was living an earthly life.

It's just exactly what everyone wants to hear from a parent: "you are my child and i love you."
