"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." Romans 8:28
i know that there's lots of times when i'm unhappy with something. if there is someone i know or something that's happened that just leaves a bitter taste in my mouth, then i'm more likely to avoid them/it and just curse it. buttttt, this verse is telling me the opposite. of course it's not with every single little detail of my life, but i can still try to abide by it. there might be things happening that is hard to try to fit into life that might be in "accordance with God's will", but isn't God bigger than life itself? it should be elementary knowledge by now that God's great enough to have things happen to us that we might not understand. but we only see that once we look back. we only see how constructive those struggles were once we've passed the hurtle. i think Paul was trying to tell us that even though something might smell/look/taste fishy in life, God uses all things for his work and for the good.
