1 John 1

3 If we claim to have fellowship with him and yet walk in the darkness, then we live out a lie.

This is sad but truthfully happens more often than we like. It's like when people ask me "hey how's your spiritual life?" am I supposed to answer differently from my "non-spiritual" life? It's because I used to live two separate lives and had to answer separately to those kinds of questions...we're supposed to live a holy life that's different from how people of the world live. It's scary because we actually do what the bible directly says is a lie.

Scripture tells us explicitly that as long as we confess our sins it sets us apart from those who sin and live it out. Although I know this and learned it and heard countless sermons about it, I stil need constant reminders and even rebuking on living truthfully because like it or not, I'm more easily tempted toward sin and the instant gratifications it gives me rather than eternal life promised to me by God.
