helping them help me.

1 Timothy 1:1-8

i really liked corporate prayer today @ church. Alice brought up the topic of praying for our country and authorities and especially president Obama. i guess to some it might sound kinda funny and not a "usual" prayer topic, but thinking about it more just makes more sense to! in my home church, my dad always asked members to do the same and pray for this country. i feel like we don't pray enough for our nation and the govt as Christian because our "primary concern" is church issues, salvation of our friends/family/colleagues, and etcc..but Timothy urges us to do so. he suggests we do more than the usual and reach out to the higher authorities by lifting them up in our prayers. no matter how corrupted the government may be, it is a system that was established by God and therefore warrants prayer. what, just because this nation's an international superpower, that we don't need prayers? nothing could be further from the truth. the more powerful it is i feel the more prayers and help it needs.

"3This is good, and pleases God our Savior, 4who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth."
