“I lift up my eyes to the hills— where does my help come from? My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth.”- Psalm 121:1-2
i think this is a great passage that summarizes the book of Psalms. and mind you, it's a looong book. majority of it (if not all?) is written by king David, when he's happy, joyful, sad, depressed, guilty, angry, etccc.....but it all ends the same way- praising and reveling in the Lord. what a GREAT mindset to be in @ all times. no matter what obstacle David faced in his life, no matter what joy or pain he faced, he still lifted up praise to God. it's so hard to do that. David was an adulterer among many other things, and i bet his guilt ate him up alive some nights. but he still trusted in God and his faith is what made him such a figure in scripture and history. just goes to show that we need not be perfect to be perfect in God's eyes.
